My dad is a GM man down to his very core. Always has been. This was due in part to the fact that his dad worked for GM growing up. So there was the ingrained loyalty mixed with a nice employee discount.

No hurt here friendo. But when you type something in ALL CAPS. It gives the impression you are angry. Just a helpful tip. Have yourself a beautiful day

Mmmm.. Could listen to a Detroit work all day long. Such a lovely sound

Dismissing a Land Cruiser for poor fuel mileage and low power is like dismissing a Lamborghini for no cup holders and paltry trunk space. You are missing the point. No one is ‘creaming’ themselves because of the power plants output. This is a low stress engine built for longevity, and it does that in spades.. And

Holy shit. I didn’t even realize there was a Daytona 2. And now 3 is happening?!

I have such a soft spot for the ‘big-six’. The dictionary definition of what a truck engine should be. End of the world reliable, simple to work on, and gobs of torque. Marvelous things.

Now playing

Third gear is good. But 4th gear is even better.

Had almost this exact same experience, albeit in BFE eastern Colorado. Trying to find my bearings after being given bad directions, roughly 1am and a clear moonless night. Only difference being I wasn’t able to get close to the mystery objects (row upon row of pulsing red orbs). After about 25 minutes of this I got

That is seriously cool. As a CO native I can tell you that Ft. Collins to the Springs is a legitimately shitty drive, with legitimately shitty traffic. Making that whole run with no human intervention is massively impressive.

Just completed a spark plug service on my second hand F250 with the 5.4. I have never used so much anti-seize on new plugs in my life. Was not taking any chances with that thing.

To be fair I just disliked GMs styling in general in this era. Sure it flies under the radar, but it’s too easily confused for a GrandAm or GrandPrix

I appreciate these cars for the power and potential. But damn, it is just such a boring / uninspired design.

You are doing God’s work taking that MK4 back to stock. And kudos for holding on to that 7M in the MK3. I have always loved those 7Ms. Really fantastic engines with just a little bit of work.

If you are willing to give up on the original looks, there is a plethora of nice aftermarket wheels that will fit. But like you said, in this day and age, finding those rears in the original size is a unicorn hunt.

Thank you for being nicer about this than I would have been. This old “It’s a truck motor hurr durr” nonsense needs to die already.

The difference here being I have heard nothing but good things about how easy the Viper 1 of 1 program is from start to finish. But being my dad has always been a ‘custom order’ kind of guy, I have been witness more than a few times to what a giant PITA it really is for most ‘conventional’ cars and trucks

Starred for your user name. The comment was probably good too..

I do...
