Um... It has rogue like elements, but it’s not exactly a one life and you’re dead forever game. You can even acquire items that give you extra lives.... It’s incredible, take a shot, I bet you will thank me for it.

Honestly, this kind of stuff is all peripheral to the enjoyment of the game. You can just have fun with it as a twinstick Roguelike Zelda-ish game with a sick sense of humor, without worrying about all this other stuff.

I really want to play this game but I don’t like that its a rogue type game. I don’t care for the one life, then your dead forever thing. Of course I said that about Faster Then Light but ended up enjoying that. Then again FTL is alot more involved and alot more stuff at stake of losing when you die. So maybe BOI…

BoI is a game with so much content and randomness that I believe things like this make it fun, if only because it’s quite likely somebody would have unlocked The Lost by cheer accident eventually. BoI isn’t a game you play once and “finish”, it’s a game you can play several times a day…
