Yeah, putting absolutely no thought into it, I think “the team playing with the ruleset under which it was designed is probably the team that will win” is a reasonable take.
What does the domination in this series so far say about the East? That the Cavs, who cut down every opponent with ease, with LeBron playing at drinking a beer courtside during the game and blatantly disrespecting teams, can get so thoroughly undressed by GSW must be humiliating to the entire conference. Who’s going…
If Lebron had spent his career in the West, he’d have probably one ring and two finals losses.
The tone of most of those articles was more “ha, ha look at these teams trying to compete with the majesty of LeBron” than “LeBron and the Cavs destruction of everyone is boring and I hate it and basketball sucks”.
There definitely were times when they felt just as inevitable and irrefutable as these Warriors. But, on the whole, I think the distance between these Warriors and the rest of the NBA is far greater than it ever was between the Bulls and the league during their time.
Is there a reason why the Warriors’ current destruction of the Cavs is somehow more boring and more detrimental to the health of the league than LeBron’s 7-year dominance of the East has been? Because I don’t remember seeing similar articles when he was chewing up the Raptors and Celtics.
This Warriors team is like the early 2000's Kings, yet with defense. And no Tim Donaghy. Though that Draymond suspension after an LBJ teabag was kind of Donaghy-eseque.
Really hard for me to enjoy a highlight where one guy beats another guy mainly because he broke the rules and got away with it. Totally ruins it for me.
Was he the one Draymond kicked in the nads, because that’s what I consider integral to their title last year.
Just enjoy a great highlight, you dummies!
yeah ‘cause they weren’t allowed to get rid of him for 5 years.
The headline doesn’t do this goal justice.
Agreed. Also eagerly awaiting the inevitable Billy Haisley bicycle kick coverage.
You should just be hoping for a game 5. At this point, not letting the Warriors run 16-0 through the playoffs would be a win for the Cavs.
The Cav’s looked horrible because the Warriors played great defense. Kevin Love was a complete non-factor and I’m still waiting for Tristan Thompson to check into the game.
Yeah but those guys you’re talking about on the Cavs- Korver, Deron, Frye (did he even get on the court tonight?), etc... can’t get on the floor because theyd get their asses handed to them on the defensive end. Love can’t even really hold his own vs. whomever GS decides to get him switched onto.
This is probably the best comment I’ve read about Game 1. Specifically this part, “the Cavs woulda lost by 15 to the Wizards tonight. They looked awful.”
Lebron is not ever going to surpass Jordan. That ship sailed a long time ago.
