Captain Harry Kim? Oy! He must have stepped up his game considerably after Voyager ended.

I recently watched the first two of seasons and they're nowhere near as bad as I remembered. There were even actual attempts at story arcs those first couple of years.

Totally agree that finance needs to be taught in high school (although thinking back, it would have bored me to tears at that age). Things like compound interest, how to do taxes, mortgages and escrow, etc. should all be a mandatory part of the curriculum.

Agreed. If you know of a big event looming on your horizon, or you plans for some sort of trip, bring it up during the job offer. Otherwise, it seems like bad form to start taking time off within the first six months, and maybe even the first year.

I would rather watch this film on a continuous loop for the rest of my life than to ever catch even another glimpse of the two FF movies that Fox made. Or the upcoming one, based on reports I've read.

Totally agree with this one. And it should be a required class, so there'd be no stigma for the boys to take it. They could call it, "How To Cook Without Poisoning Yourself."

Each to their own, but when I wake up, glance at the clock and see I've still got 3 or 4 more hours to sleep, it's a wonderful feeling.

What if I wake up at 5:20 and the alarm's set for 5:30? Thinking I've got hours left to go when I've only got 10 minutes ain't gonna be good for anyone.

Yeah, every word of that American section made me roar with laughter.

Something to think about before trying Elance: I looked into it years ago and the designers on the site were so desperate to get work that they were seriously underbidding on projects. I saw people bidding $20 to lay out and design an entire 16 page brochure. You'd spend more than that in the first hour! It wasn't for

You could try what they do where I work: a no questions-asked automatic dismissal for anyone caught stealing lunches. Seems a bit extreme to me, but no one's ever stolen my lunch.

At the risk of sounding immodest: I've been drawing and illustrating for 50 years now, and even though I think I'm pretty good, I'm still nowhere near where I want to be. It's a lifetime process.

Have to admit this is the first thing that popped into my mind...
