It should be noted that those “five Emmys” are one for acting (for John Lithgow) and four technical Emmys — makeup, hair, cinematography, and sound editing. Amazing Stories was a showcase for directors, designers, and technical staffers, and it was always superbly made, but it was generally quite weak on the writing

Bingo. Watched that episode as a kid and it blew my mind. Great writing and production - have to believe Spielberg was involved given the topic and how sharp it was.

I doubt it. He had a prominent role in The Avengers with multiple important lines. I highly doubt that Marvel is going to cast him as another character after that.

I’ve heard that Marvel has a policy that if an actor plays a character in the MCU, they cannot play another MCU character (except in cases like the the Koenig brothers, naturally). But then again the actress who played Star-Lord’s mother was in Captain America The First Avenger in a tiny role.

Ahead of its time in terms of HBO quality shows. If they did it now, people would never stop falling over themselves praising it.

And that would be breaking the big Marvel casting rule
