Blue Castle is my favorite too! I'm really enjoying your discourse here. Thanks for taking the time to write it.

And the food. No one wants to eat rodent stew. If you eat Capitol food, you have to think about the people who were starving in the districts while the elite overindulged. Amazingly bad idea.
I'd like to not believe this was possible but having met a few bad teachers I can totally see that happening. Of course questioning anything a teacher says is insubordination. Even if he's dead wrong.
This is true in my experience and really disgusting. Again, thanks Texas for the whitewashed textbooks! Some teachers seem to have zero courage and feel zero responsibility for teaching history with integrity.
That sounds like one of the most valuable days you could have had at school.
Good for you doing that! Outstanding book, I agree. I'm glad no one objected.
I could not agree more.
I'm stealing your line for when my 'favorite' brother-in-law makes a comment like JCD's. :)
Been to several colleges recently. Haven't seen that at all.
What are you basing that claim on? During what eras were people shamed and shut down less?
I sub, and I sometimes get fearful in history classes because the textbooks are so whitewashed and narrow in view (thanks Texas!) and often the teachers know little more than what they've read there. I took many more subject matter classes than most of them did, and I'll never stop learning about it. I also live in a…
I would classify you as purely intellectually insulting, as likely the kind of person who won't take the time to consider another human being's point of view out of laziness and/or narcissism. And quit the "nowadays" crap. Actually study some history before you make a claim that unfounded. Read some newspapers/books…
For the record, erotic stories and my imagination are a lot more satisfying. But that's just me. Also I don't like computer viruses.
I work on teams of dudes. We travel and are away from home sometimes for weeks. Jerking off/porn consumption are common topics, especially once we get bored. I am a female. I never, ever add anything about my own habits, not even the tiniest comment. It always seems like a really bad idea. I've always suspected that:…
I'm a sub right now. I am not trained as a teacher, but I was a therapeutic riding instructor, have worked with several individuals with autism, and worked in a top-quality early childhood center for three years. I also have Positive Discipline training and was a nanny for several years.
Apparently this is not how most special education teachers are trained. Phrases I hear regularly in special ed/CI classrooms:
I tried to explain this to an adult recently, one responsible for sunscreening many children who refused to understand that cloudy days have UV rays too. Maybe the beads will get the idea across.
I really liked his apology comment about dressing appropriately. You want to know the number one thing kids will not learn in school? HOW TO DRESS PROFESSIONALLY. Especially not from their teachers. I know like three somewhat fashionable/professionally dressed teachers out of hundreds.
I enjoy the students, but it's the worst job I've ever had. Unfortunately.
Stop with your facts. There's no place in school for those damned things. And Google is just too hard to use when you want to know what an unfamiliar phrase means or to get expert insight on something you're supposed to teach.
