Recently certain photographs have jumped out at me as being notable for a particular reason. This era has been so fucked up you know its going to take up volumes of history books/ encyclopedias, etc.

You’re right that it was largely driven by the way the media covered him. It was never fair to pin blame on him for grown men going weak in the knees at the sight of him playing mediocre defense and being a reserved human being about it all, 1,000%.

Bumgarner is a fucking goon, could not agree more.

Wooooowww. A star to you my friend.

1000% yes. Then goes home and nurses his wounds under his neon bar sign in an under-furnished room with a giant bigscreen TV.

Josh Reddick is one of my favorite players. Really good glove, gives great ABs, and is a fucking character. Always gave me slightly-dumber-Tim-Riggins vibe. Like, I bet he has or has had a jean jacket with the sleeves cutoff.

Me, a film student moving in to my freshman dorm— “hey cool Clockwork Orange poster, you into movies?”

Lol, you need “policy papers” to have spoken on your policies.

You did and then you kept conversing with me.

It’s ok to just say “you know what, yeah, I was wrong.”

Its not vetting because this isn’t what vetting is. It is really simple. The New Yorker piece did the vetting. This article is mocking him for loving books and speaking a bunch of languages. Like what you did in defense of the article. It may interest you to do that, but it ain’t “vetting.”

You can talk about his image all you want, but presenting a verified image of reading books and being enthusiastic as “annoying” and calling it “vetting” is incorrect. That’s not what that word means, and why its ok to say you were wrong, because you were.

We weren’t arguing his strategy to roll out policy. If that’s your gripe, that’s fair, and an article like the one Ashley linked questioning that is totally valid (though misguided—it is over a year out, so there’s no rush to get there as he’s building an identity with the public).

It isn’t vetting. It’s snark and totally without value. There are things to “vet” that don’t amount to “god he likes books and being enthusiastic its so annoyingggg.” His time in office, his educational record and background, his military record. You can vet his statements, his campaign events and performance.

No, the really insightful links Ashley posted in response here is vetting. I’m all for that, particularly someone who is becoming as popular as Buttigieg is. This is not “vetting” lol.

This ain’t vetting.

So you’re getting “mediocrity” from Buttigieg and not the message here?

God for-fucking-bid

Ashely I absolutely love you and your work.
