I don't have much experience with Android apps malfunctioning after an update, and I've taken a tablet from 3.0 through to 4.0 and a phone from 2.2 through to 4.1. The one exception was the swype beta broke briefly on my tablet. But for the most part, I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, ICS is a more a refinement of

2) What neighborhood are you moving to/what school? Crime in the city can be a bit overblown. There are definitely bad neighborhoods, but most people never encounter it. Just be aware of your surroundings, know where you're going when you're out at night, and don't stray from populated streets when you venture into

I've been getting more and more into using cloud services for everything I do, but one thing I haven't found a replacement for is Dreamweaver. Anyone have experience with a good web/cloud-based HTML/CSS/Javascript editor with syntax highlighting and autocompletion? Something with Google Drive integration would be

To me, when you're getting a nexus, you're betting on bigger and better things coming from Google in the next few updates, and I think that's a good bet. But a couple knocks against it are that the camera is mediocre and the external speaker is really weak.

You guys going to do a webapp/chrome app post?

Totally agree. I think in the past Google hasn't done enough to make clear that if you want the latest and greatest from Google, you get the Nexus, but they're doing better with that now. Hopefully the rumors are true and the next generation will bring multiple nexus devices, so we don't have to choose between

Why don't you just go into Google Maps, center the map around your house, and search for "Hospital?" Or am I missing something?

Going to my first professional conference next week. It's on educational technology, and I'm presenting. Any advice?

God bless you sir

Only if you and everyone you want to connect with is on iOS

I'm a big fan of Latitude. I know some people find it creepy, but it's nice to be able to glance at my phone and see how far away my girlfriend is so I can know when to start dinner or to see how long I'll have to wait for her when we're meeting somewhere.

I'm thinking about switching unlimited music streaming services. I use Mog, but the Android app is becoming unusable. As in, it's getting background killed just like any other app to free up memory. The music playback will just stop when I'm switching apps.

(Android): Reader, Catch (a note-taking app), Chicago Transit, Swype, Tasks (integrates with Google Tasks and looks and functions like an ICS native app), Tesla LED, Walkroid (pedometer), and Zillow (for house-hunting).

What's an alternative for people with bad knees? Squats are the only thing that consistently make my knees hurt.

Lack of exercise is usually the number one culprit for me

I just use common sense about what I give a unique password. As in, what harm will actually befall me if someone hacks my account? If someone gets access to my netflix account, that's a pretty easy fix. There's no compromising information there, and if someone tries to change anything, I get an email notification. If

I have a transit tracker app to tell me when the next bus or train is coming, but for directions, I use Google Maps. Works well, but doesn't always show service interruptions.

Yeah, I'm sure city-dwelling iOS users are going to be thrilled about ditching transit directions. Wonder how many people will take "third-party apps" to mean "Google Maps." I know how much end users like it when companies remove features in their products in order to stick it to a competitor.

Yeah, but you can't modify or add to a Google Custom Map/My Map from a smartphone.
