From what I remember of a long-past trip to Argentina, this should actually be a pass.

They’re like 8 foot, 9 feet, 10 foot. They look like aliens to us. Big eyes. They have big eyes.”

For a lower priced vehicle, if they want to make money, they have to build it in large enough volumes. Building a small vehicle, pricing it low and combining that with low production numbers is a time-proven way to lose money.

Yeah, fuck affordable EVs! Volvo needs to stay niche! Would hate to see more Volvos, then it wouldn’t be special to own one anymore.

“All of this worries me, because I like Volvo, the Volvo that was happy to toil away out of the spotlight.” ROFL really? You are essentially saying, “Volvo I want you to faill financially AGAIN, because selling low volume cars worked so well the last time around.”

What’s the output of the factory this will be made in?  Half million cars?  100k?

There are different levels of “volume”. Volvo in the US has always been really low numbers, but there’s no reason they couldn’t get up to, say, Audi levels of volume with a similar strategy (a little nicer than a full-on appliance car, but not out of reach). EVs, because of the weight of the battery, feel solid and

If they can maintain a decent level of quality (which I’m skeptical that they can) I don’t see an issue with it? We need more affordable EV options, and I think it’s great that a car company is actually trying to increase production of affordable models and not just going more upmarket and exclusive like almost

...on a rocket sled.

More safety is just crazy commie talk in America!

lol @ honest politicians in TX.

Maybe they just want to follow in California’s footsteps? We have no annual inspection, but we do have Smog tests every two years. As far as I know the smog check is just for smog equipment and they do not check for safety standards.

It’s THAT neat. It gets better gas mileage than a sedan while doing all the the truck things an average truck owner actually uses the truck for. This is literally the one and only truck I’ve ever considered as replacement for a first gen Tacoma.

I mean if the housing prices in your area just spiked 10-25% and suddenly the down payment you saved up is pointless cuz everyone is paying cash+. I might just say F it and buy the Supra because I know I can afford it and it makes me happy unlike the depression of wishing for a home.

I used to work auto collections during the great recession. There were people who were wrapped up into car loans that looked like mortgages. It was astonishing.

167 horsepower, the EV6 Light gets 232 miles of range.”

Agree... if you can find a dealer that isn’t putting a giant mark up on it, so it’s almost cheaper to get an F-150.

I don’t own one but I think the Maverick Hybrid is a very strong value proposition. Lots of capability and efficiency but not a huge price tag, even loaded up with options.

Dont let these folks know about all the drivers licence photos they have

Smart move to test medium performance tires and not actual performance tires. If you want to start a massive argument among track people, post literally any comparison between the RT660, RE71RS, AO52, and RS4 and then say that firehawk indys are actually good.
