Large vehicles... especially those which can roll coal.

tbh, when we got our hyundai, the bar for our expectation was EXTREMELY low, so when they not only surpassed our expectations, but we realized they actually build an impressive product, especially for the price... yeah, we’re gonna be impressed.

Personally I wouldn’t mind if each unit within the car was easy to remove and repair on a desk, and drop back in. Though to your point I have a feeling this isn’t the model Tesla is going for.

they dont make a more expensive porsche branded one?

or it can be for those people who can barely afford the monthly on the car and cant afford a place to live. /s

This is largely because they have to actually develop an internal combustion engine working with all sorts of factors like fluid flow thru piping, blocks, manifolds, heads, radiators, cylinders, forced induction, climate variation, etc, VS just sourcing an electric motor/battery. Electric input/output in comparison is

Damn. I spent way too many hours as a kid in that fuckin jump seat. Didn’t help that my father was 6’4” too for when all 4 of us had to hop in the truck.

Oh damn. I know what you’re talking about but I can’t recall which truck came with it as an option.

Idk… the throwout bearing in my 2012 hatch was trying to call it quits in 20k miles. My sister totaled the car before the bearing quit tho.

NGL, I judge a business by their bathroom. If they cant keep a clean bathroom I often leave.

I was on track, coming around turn 4 in my Volvo S70 way hotter than I should have. and the rear end kicked out. I counter steered, buried the gas, and let go of the steering wheel (not a full jesus take the wheel, but released grip). the car swerved back and forth a couple times, straightened back out, and I was on

Maintenance. i have all the tools at home. just need to find the time to do it.

Man…. It used to. Back when cheap econoboxes were a plenty. We got an ev for my wife at $700 down and $150/month. It was cheaper than gasoline alone. Not to mention upcoming repairs

I think the big one that stands out there would be “an appliance that can do it cheaper in the long run.” for example if I were to have a refrigerator in my house from the 80's... it would make sense for me to go get a new fridge, because newer refrigerators are far more efficient, to where the cost difference in

Old cars.

If I ever want to drive a luxury car, some asshole needs to buy one new off the shelf today, so i can swoop in and pick it up at a fraction of the cost later.

I think this is the key difference here... The objective of japan was capturing general wealth... china’s objective is imperialism, first economic and then transition to a protectorate.

funny how you mention their luxury experiences being just a little off. ive felt the same thing visiting VN or other 3rd world countries... I’ve always just considered it a “knock off luxury experience.” just like a lot of knock off products out there, they do 95% really damn well 5% questionable, but at least it’s
