I’m in the SF bay area, and someone just stole my car hauler and 6-wheel crawler bike the night before halloween.
batteries are usually around 1000lbs give or take, so it’s only an extra 200lbs in a 4500lb vehicle. furthermore, starting in 2026 places like california are going to start requiring 10 year, 150k mile battery warranties. not an engineer, so im not completely sure on this, but with my experience from batteries in…
one of the original ideas around twitter was that it was only like 140 characters per post.
I agree... smaller battery, smaller car, smaller CdA, less “features.” give it some heated seats, adequate AC, bluetooth, a backup cam, and manual everything else... call it a day.
I can see them doing something like selling a car with only 80% of the battery unlocked.... and a couple years down the road selling an “update” that unlocks the other 20%
Neutral: annoyed as shit this halloween. someone stole my trailer and bike

For some time we had a single red dixie cup tech-screwed down on the trunk of our 24hrs of lemons car.... we were working on the rear brakes, and one of us set it on the trunk, one of the other guys came along with the 1/4" driver with an extension, and made sure that thing became a permanent accessory on the car...…
This is why Dennis needs to stick with a proper vehicle like a Range Rover
yeah. plus the more you lift, the worse it tows/hauls. leave the beater truck alone.
the F150 lightning seems to be ‘only’ 6000lbs, so a consumer could only hope.
we have a 2020 ioniq ev. it’s a fantastic car. it actually drives pretty well, its very quiet on the highway, appleplay etc, we average 4.8 miles/kwh, surprisingly spacious, the rear has decent legroom (ok-ish great headroom), its pretty much a zero maintenance car (I pop the hood and look under it from time to time…
the rear vent is right there... they could have quite simply boxed it off in order to separate it from the rest of the bay.
all that work, and they couldnt figure out how to put that intake somewhere else?
