That’s um, interesting. What’s the recommended octane rating? Throwing in 91 or 93 is not going to bump up horsepower like that. Did Mazda engineer this engine to re-calibrate A/F mixtures on the fly for higher than recommended octanes or something?

As far as I can tell Mazda claims 227hp, not 250.

I believe electric car companies have a formula so that they can come up with an “MPG” equivalent for an electric car. Otherwise nobody would know how the hell far they can actually go on x miles per watt or some shit.
