I think the mobile/desktop apps sync independent of YNAB’s servers using Dropbox — if it stops working altogether, I would expect to see a lawsuit, since the package has been paid for. I bet they’re shifting everyone’s data to their own servers (not dropbox) to get into the data mining business.

I use YNAB for the ability to budget out a year+ at a time. I don’t follow their philosophy, etc. I won’t pay for a subscription model — I think it’s a rip off for pretty much everything except maybe renting an apartment. It’s a drug dealer’s methodology.

Just got in under the wire ... but AT&T Next, et al., are most definitely contracts — they’re just rotating contracts designed to keep you with one carrier indefinitely, as opposed to the old-fashioned contracts with end dates.
