I’m not risking it. I’ve been burned before. I remember being super excited about the 2004 King Arthur, and it was such a trainwreck (Arthur and the knights of the roundtable were centurions or something? I don’t remember, but I clearly remember haaaaating it).

I have some good news for you:

I bet they like those nasty beer-ritas they make, too.

Yes, and in the alternate universe in which Anna Wintour were to offer us jobs, we would not be able to casually dismiss that offer to be a “builder” instead.

Isn’t RyanAir one of the super cheap European airlines? Like less than 100 Euros a flight? I could deal with standing if American Airlines flights were that cheap, but I’m sure they’ll keep their flights as expensive as ever, just further limiting space and amenities.

Seriously. Flying has to be the only service where you pay hundred to thousands of dollars and get treated like complete crap throughout the entire process. And you must accept being treated this way, otherwise you might get put on a no-fly list and resign yourself to sailing everywhere, I guess.

Not sure if this is who you’re talking about, but Jenny Trout did amazing chapter recaps (start here) of the whole series.

Now playing

Yeah, but she seems to have lost connection to reality, so I don’t know if I would count her as a comedian.

The only rules I remember at my prom in Texas in 2006 were that you couldn’t bring a date who was 21 or older (one of my friends tried to bring a college-aged friend of his and she was barred from entering), and only seniors were allowed to buy tickets. I don’t remember my prom having any rules about dress, but then

Yeah, I don’t get the coach thing. I guess if he gets a boner, you are not preapproved?

That is because it’s from the Lion King original Broadway soundtrack!

Agreed, though this was one of the few that got a real release, not direct-to-video (so much so that I think people forget the original existed, since it was released during the Disney Dark Ages).

One that is also surprisingly not bad (and I promise I am not joking) was Cinderella 3. It has halfway decent animation (one of the big problems with the Disney sequels is that the animation gets offloaded to one of their less prestigious animation branches—the ones that make their made-for-TV stuff), and it’s not a

Seriously. My mom is also a teacher and she tells me heartbreaking stories about her kids (K-1st graders). We had several raids in the area, and the kids keep asking her why the police is taking away parents. Kids shouldn’t have to live with this kind of fear.

Yup. I remember my shock when I first enrolled in an American high school and my parents had to sign a form *opting out* of corporal punishment. At the time (not sure if anything has changed), it was the default. I worked for the state legislature when they debated whether to have it switched to an opt-in system, and

Yeah, the first half of that argument might fly in a high school or college English classroom, but not so much with elementary and middle school students. The second half of that... no.

Most people who are that devout already take their kids to church multiple times a week anyway. When I still went, there were 3-4 times a week that you could go, including Sunday School, traditional morning service, youth group/mid-week Bible study, and sometimes an evening service. These children are probably not

We already know they wouldn’t, since they didn’t seem to have any problems with John McCain (born on-base in Panama) and Ted Cruz (born in Canada to a US citizen), but yeah, the one born in a US state to an American mother is definitely the one of questionable citizenship. For the record, both McCain and Cruz

Yeah, I felt the same. I watched the show because I remember liking the book (in a manner of speaking—it’s still pretty intense), and I was mentally preparing for a pretty graphic scene. It was graphic, but not what I had already imagined in my head. The scene was kinda voyeuristic until the parents showed up. Plus,

Yeah, to me the picture is just meant as a reminder that the image we see of him now has been deliberately manipulated to look more meek and innocent, not to imply that skinny, nerdy looking guys can’t rape.
