I’m sure she will spend all that time in meditation and come back to tell us how much happier and spiritually accomplished poor Indian people are. Seriously, the number of times I’ve heard that from wealthy white people after having visited developing countries...
I’m confused by why this movie has to be a musical at all. The Cinderella live-action remake wasn’t, and I don’t think The Jungle Book remake was, either.
Yeah, I’m not really sure what’s wrong with it either. In my area, Delta is actually the pricier option, and I still vastly prefer it to American or United. Have not tried Southwest (It’s cheaper, but its history with dealing with non-white, non-skinny passengers doesn’t feel right to me. Also, I don’t enjoy having to…
It doesn’t surprise me that Trump doesn’t understand how Executive Orders work, but damn, do we have to watch people with government experience try to tell us that this is totally normal? I want them to name any other president who wrote “practice” Executive Order.
To be fair, this was pretty early in their TV days. They’ve definitely relaxed a little since then (I think I even see some knee in the pic below!), but that picture was too good not to use.
Duh, they’re supposed to live with their parents forever, like the Duggar girls.
And what, pray tell, are “men’s jobs?” Most baffling part of this already so confusing letter.
Yeah, the national ones may not have direct support available, that’s why I would recommend asking them to point you to regional organizations. From what I understand, MALDEF has several regional offices throughout the country, though.
Hahaha yes :) I get asked a lot at shows what I am wearing on my lips. I’m also super paranoid they will discontinue it at any time so I buy a lot of them at once, which is fine since they’re only $8 apiece.
Aw, damn. Like I said, I primarily use the dark reds and berry tones for performance make-up. I don’t have any of the lighter shades, sorry!
I know it’s not a super glamorous brand, but I swear by the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm. I tend to use darker colors over neutrals, but I wear them to dance performances and after two layers, that stuff stays on until you remove it at the end of the night with very little retouching. These are the color options:
I can provide some national resources, but depending on where you are, there may be other regional/local resources that they can use as well. I am pretty familiar with what’s available in Texas, if that helps.
Like I said in a different thread I look white, but I am mixed and from Brazil, and have a “weird” name. And the guy from Jet Propulsion Labs who was detained was US-born and had a foreign-sounding name, and looked like this, so...
Except we have recent examples of not only immigrants with permits (as is the case in this article), but also green card holders, AND a US-born citizen being detained. They had to get a court order to stop the travel ban from applying to permanent residents, so clearly this administration is much less concerned with…
Well I look white, but I am mixed and from Brazil, and have a “weird” name. Also, the guy from Jet Propulsion Labs who was detained was US-born and had a foreign-sounding name, and looked like this, so...
Same. What’s even crazier is this statement coming from an immigration officer. Literally everyone they deal with wasn’t born here. I have been coming back and forth between this country and my country of origin my entire life and this is the first time I am worried about international trips I have to make this year.
This quote from the NY Times article is absolutely chilling to me. I was also not born in this country (though I’ve been a citizen since I was a baby), and I have a very different-sounding name. I know logically there’s no legal risk of my being detained, but this was hard to read. Ramirez is totally right to sue—I’m…
Have you seen the original film? I assure you that it’s nowhere as divisive as you seem to imply. “White people” is not an insult, and if anything, the movie (and I’m assuming, by extension, the show) is more about exposing some of the unique challenges that black people (and other people of color, but they’re not the…
