The flames from this take are burning a hole in my laptop.
I can’t claim to know too much about Shelly Sterling, but I would say that anything that takes money from this person is fine by me. Hopefully some of it goes to charity one day. Its better than being spent on thongs and easter bunny suits.
I think that its some form of a depreciation measure, and what they’d base it on, I have no clue. It likely does tie into present value calculations.
I’d have to say that they needed to seriously pony up after the past few years. This guy took a program with sanctions, went undefeated in his first year, got to a BCS bowl his second, and won the title in his third year with three different QBs.
The Nets essentially are a team that is trying something nobody else is. They aren’t tanking, they aren’t trying to build a team or even create an identity, and you need an identity to be a competitive team, but are essentially a team every year thrown together with an assemblage of overpriced veterans with enough…
Its always the quiet ones. Yeah, Stockton was quite dirty, its well known. But hey, a guy of his size needs to do whatever he can to even the odds, and he is the all time steals leader for a reason.
Stockton has nothing but praise for everyone he ever played with and worked with. Even fucking Greg Ostertag. His HoF speech was full of praise for Sloan. Basically, he never seemed to hold a negative opinion of someone.
I think this is a case of someone simply not being up to the challenge that life put in front of him, and now is being punished for it, deservingly so.
I still think bread and water was a solid idea. Hey, if you're a child rapist, cartel operative, or a serial killer, bread and water is good enough for you.
Maybe they figured out the Streisand effect. Look, corporate outrage only makes things worse. Sometimes, doing nothing is the best way to make things go away. Keep things internal, figure it out, but don’t make headlines that reference your incompetence. It kind of makes sense to me.
I like bland takes and their odd buddy humor shtick still more than hot takes that we get with Skip and Stephen A.
Its so stupid. People always bitching and whining about police brutality and the NSA and BIG GUVMENT when they ignore the fact that without the state, a lot of people would be left to die in a gutter because they have disabilities.
I don’t think it will be an issue merely because every team at some point or another has doen something astronomically stupid or dickish, and the Yankees still do overpay. I mean, look at Ellsbury.
The argument that the Home Runs are tainted is one that I understand, and I can see why the Yankees wouldn’t want to make a PR Spectacle out of it like they and other baseball teams would do for other milestones.
Don’t know about any musicians, but one of my best friends in college sucked an NBA Player’s dick quite a bit. At first, I had no idea who it was, but I saw the commercial last year with the guy waving the finger saying “HAHA NO NO NOT TODAY!!”, and recognized him and his voice. His name is Dikembe Mutombo and was…
The hardass shtick wears thin if you don’t change it up from time to time. The Rangers had a fucking player revolt that ended up with Tortorella getting axed, because he was a prick who put his ego above the team’s chances (almost killed Kreider’s career).
Erm, slaves? I think you might be overstating things.
Fiscal conservatives hate stadium financing just as much as liberals do. The reasoning may be less based in class terms, but it has the same basic premise, which is that this is not something government needs to be spending money on.
Maybe, but I’d have to think in some cases, it makes sense. If you take the Packers out of Green Day, there is no more economy in Green Bay. Lambeau Field and gameday is what they have going for them, and nothing else, really. The fur trade died over 200 years ago, and the national switch to a service based economy…
