have you ever considered that maybe, just maybe, you’re a tad paranoid?

Also fun fact, most of the violence committed in the united states is against men, so perhaps, just maybe, you don’t have to live in fear “just because we’re born with breasts and a vagina” but rather, you live in fear because

A.) you’re a person

What did you expect? This is some major yawnnns

Shut up Whitey!

You were pondering why the school was significantly white? I gave you the answer. There are significantly more white people in the US. If the school matched every demographic to the percentage point, you would still have significantly more white people.

63.9% of the US population is Caucasian. Only 55% of Yale’s student body is Caucasian. I’m not sure how one construes there is a pro-white bias at Yale.

Yeah, nothing to do with white people being the predominate race numbers wise in the US.

Maybe not make hyperbolic claims about “not feeling safe on campus” ?

Right, but when the people complaing about “privilege” have 10x the privilege of the average american they deserve ridicule.

If you get caught up in the minutia of self pity, whether it’s yours or someone else’s, nothing will get done. Ignore the bullshit. focus on what matters.

Keep sending the message that minorities are not the same as other people and need to be treated with special kid gloves and constantly told that they are special.

Time is a finite resource. Equality is good, but what does that mean in this context? You can’t force students to want to interact with people they don’t want to interact with (if that is the case). Making them take a class on black culture won’t make them care or not care. I just don’t understand the “we need more

Jesus Christ the fucking narcissism.

If it’s Poe’s Law, you’re essentially saying that millenial protesters are beyond parody.

This is literally mass hysteria.

No, I mean the majority of the minorities there also come from privilege. Either educational/financial/class, etc.

Wow, moved to tears here myself. Children of extraordinary privilege weeping about other children who have (or are perceived to have) yet more privilege. Why talk about Paris or Syria when we have micro-aggressions to attend to?

You’re a moron. NYU was an exceptionally open atmosphere when it comes to race/gender. That goes for the student body, the faculty, and the administrative support. I had friends there of every stripe, and so did all of my friends. Sorry if you weren't smart enough to cut it there. I will admit, the environment is

A beautiful piece and great read. I will bring up one minor counterpoint to your faculty diversity numbers cited. Those numbers may indicate systemic racism in the Yale hiring process, but those numbers mirror the ethnicity ratios of men and women with a master's degree or higher. They also mirror men and women over

A couple points:

Grieved ... sobbed ... tears ... breakdowns
