I'm very curious if the face of the sick person needs to be seen, or if this works by showing, say, a closeup of gangrene in the foot or something.

@Apostropartheid: He isn't simply defending the BBC, he's threatening Lifehacker and making accusations of criminal activity. A matter of semantics, yes, but distinct enough.

@Phlashman: I'm curious. Do the Canadians get BBC access? Last I checked, the Queen was still the Head of State through a Governor General.

@Ian: Oh noes! They'll lock us in the Bloody Tower and leave us to rot until the ravens pick the flesh from our bones, after which they will bury us, exhume us, and then cut off our collective heads!

Oh, shiny! This colonial can now fulfill his quota of humor consumption from the cradle of the Empire. God save the Queen!

Does anyone know if this honors the traffic-over-SSL settings on your Gmail account?

This looks promising. Will check out tonight.

I am very new to Ubuntu (recently got 9.10 running in a Virtual Box hosted on my main Windows 7 PC). Is there a way to upgrade my existing installation to the 10.04 beta (through Terminal commands or the like), rather than blowing away the current one and starting from scratch?

I tried LogMeIn, and it was pretty cool. But after all was said and done, I went with a SSH tunnel through which I'd run Remote Desktop or UltraVNC (running both services on the home machine).

Look, I'm sorry, but I just cannot trust login credentials to my most sensitive data (banking, medical, taxes, etc) to a centralized server. I use KeePass and would never trust a solution that doesn't store data entirely locally.

Kayak FTW! I switched to them after Travelocity pulled a bait and switch on me. Kayak gives you links to where you can buy the tickets, so I see less incentive for dishonest practices since they won't get a fee from the sale. (FWIW, the cheapest fare Kayak finds for the route I take is often the one offered directly

@TheOtherHalf: Never ceases to amaze me how many people believe that privacy or clearing cookies is about porn.

@echo off: Believe it or not, some people *gasp* don't actually want to live in a glass fishbowl.

So does this support Facebook status updates as well, or just the chat in and of itself?

@violent peas: Says the poster using an internet pseudonym. If you really believe that garbage, by all means, publicly post your full name and address. How about your email login credentials as well? Nothing to hide, right?
