Vote: WinRAR (tried others, always came back to that)

@harsh4us: Intriguing... I will check that one out, myself.

Every time I see one of these posts, I think to myself, "Self — I don't trust them suspender-wearin', monocle-glintin', Uncle Moneybags.coms, nosiree..."

@tmlfan81: Same story here. I used ZoneAlarm for a good, long time... then reverted back a few versions because the newer ones were getting bloated. I finally switched to Comodo and never looked back.

@RickyF: No, you're not. Want some of my tinfoil? :)

@alexgieg: Unfettered, or "naked", capitalism results in monopolies and robber barons. The fact that most of the population of America has a working week that is 5 days, a working day that is 8 hours, and the existence of overtime pay and workman's comp is directly attributable to the labor movement that grew out

@crouton976: Last time I checked, the 16th Amendment (income tax) was ratified in 1913. So... what was your point again?

@Zundfolge: Unfettered free markets? You mean like Wall Street has been up to now? How has that worked out?

Excellent information to know. I've thought about testing the recoverability of my gmail accounts, but I was concerned about potentially not being able to get back in.

@kingofallcosmos: Let me rephrase. A person may "own" a house. If they owe money to the bank, then the bank "owns" their debt. If the person defaults on their debt, then the bank "owns" the house. The ownership is probationary - it depends on the individual meeting contractual obligations.

Tried it... it seems that you can't complete/edit/add tasks directly in the little control panel. From an interface standpoint, I would expect to click on the tray icon, bring up my list of tasks, and then handle them all from the control panel.

@AlanR: Owning a home isn't the problem. Obsession with owning a home is the underlying cause. As a culture we hold home ownership as an unassailable ideal. This is the American Way, we are told.

@edmicman: Those are all fair arguments once you "own" the property. But if you take out an ARM or engage in any of the, frankly, idiotic loan arrangements that have been ubiquitous until the crash, then you don't own the home. The bank does.

Dammit, previous post accidentally was sent as a reply to another post... I don't like this new-fangled threadedness... but I digress.

@Obama: Your running mate, Senator Biden, asked the DoJ to criminally pursue filesharers on behalf of corporate entities and "sponsored a bill that would make it a felony to record internet radio". [en.wikipedia.org]

I don't work freelance, but a close friend of mine is a contractor, and she set up a savings account with an automatic transfer percentage of all the checks she deposits. Then on the tax days, she pays out of that.

@Platypus Man: I wholeheartedly concur. This is the killer feature I've been wanting in any webmail or desktop mail app.

As far as backups, where is a good place to backup too?
