The division was a nice distraction while waiting for Dark Souls 3. Now that it’s out, i’ve got no qualms for getting only $30 store credit for a game I paid $20 for. Cool game in theory, but not the greatest execution.

To anyone who said The Division would be everything Destiny wasn’t -

LOL... Almost got banned from a Facebook group for posting this article.

Or maybe there are more level-headed people in the Kotaku community who understand that Destiny actually has some legitimately fantastic elements to it and that wholesale bashing of the game is usually done by immature IGN community types.

Yes, but if it makes you feel better, vanilla Destiny is better than vanilla Division, in every way bar matchmaking.

“The Division has nothing on Destiny, absolutely nothing.”

Exactly my feelings on the game. One of the biggest problems I see is that the game they’ve made would work better as diablo but the gear and drops are setup too much like destiny where there’s a defined cap on power levels and now the drops are coming at a slower pace to try to compensate. From my own experience, my

Hey guys!!!~ what are you up to?

What’s really hilarious/sad/absolutely fucking frustrating is that they are now “hotfixing” named enemies in mission runs to only drop 1 high end item per run. Wiped character? Doesn’t matter, got to keep people from gearing up.

I was thinking you just get every NPC in the game to just stare at you, no blinking, no talking, just their eyes and heads tracking you as you walk by.

I think if I spent thousands of hours making a game, I’d code it so every NPC the illegal downloader passed flipped change at my character (even bosses), while they muttered things like “poor guy”, “here, buy yourself something to eat”, “sorry you are so hard up, don’t worry, things will probably pick up for you in

The game starts with Donald Trump being sworn in as the 45th president of the United States.

Hey, another reason to get that layer of dust off the PS4...

Go ahead.

Spoiler alert: A droid carrying an important message ends up with a Force-potential loner in the desert who goes on a mission with Han & Chewie to rescue someone from a red-light-sabered, black-masked villain with a planet destroyer, old dude fights with the villain and dies while the rest of the goodies blow up the

You missed the editor’s note back in 2013 when he said Kotaku was going to make a shift from what it was doing and instead start having staff focus on select games for a much longer period, yes? As we all know Jason chose Destiny and it gets the bulk of his focus. Other staff members have chosen other games.

And I, for one, am totally unconcerned. I’ve got literally 600 other games to play, so I can set The Division aside until there’s more story available.

As someone who played Destiny a LOT, but quit before the first expansion dropped, I enjoy The Division a lot more. Destiny’s shooting mechanics are better, but a lot of that is due to the science fantasy setting. In The Division there’s an actual story to experience, which I quite like.
