Eh. Plenty of power for the average person. It isn’t a sports cat. The myth that an economic daily needs 200hp is a lie. You can always slow down to merge anyway if the power really is inadequate, but it rarely is.

Seriously. This is the kind of game people are always asking for: new, fun, creative. There's another review on this very site that praises it, but they're simultaneously gonna run this article that nitpicks a very small portion of the game? Gotta get more people to look at the ads I guess.
I wouldn’t write it off based on this one review. Every other one I’ve read has been pretty overwhelmingly positive. Kotaku has become notorious for writing negative, condescending, clickbait titles since the scandal a few years back and subsequent staff changes. I only come to scan headlines and see if I’ve missed…
Oh holy crap this takes me back. My little brother had this and I made fun of it at first but then later got addicted the more I watched him play
I thought the same at first, but I stuck with it because I liked the graphics and could feel myself starting to “get it.” After ra while I did. It’s a very different feel, and it’s very important to read the track surface and elevation changes. It’s just a bit “looser” as if you are turning a steering wheel. Once you…
Yo what about Blur???
Hydro thunder remains my favorite arcade racing game of all time.
Exposed shifter linkage is still one of my favorite design features in a performance car. Even though it's a flappy paddle car, there's still some mechanical bits that can be shown off and remind you you're in a mechanical piece of art. Far superior to pressing a button to shift into drive.
I love the art style and design. The ships look worn, gritty, and purposeful; the worlds look convincingly spacey rather than cartoonishly oversaturated á la NMS.
I have the exact same take. I, too, am a boring piece of shit. I do not need to write my own story; I am not a writer. I want a curated experience. It's the same reason I've migrated away from open world games and started craving linear experiences like the Metro games. I'd rather the devs take their time and build…
Hm, well now I’ve forgotten. Stinger, Golf R, G80, TLX, Tesla model 3 or S, K5? Can’t vouch for practicality of any of those but just first to come to mind
I’m as much of a car nut as the rest of us, but no matter how hard I try I can’t bring myself to really get excited about the *modern* Porsche brand like I can about older Porsche. I can’t really figure out why, because they’re truly all-around incredible machines, look great, still offer a wonderful manual or…
*nice*
Gti is really the best all-arounder there is. Does everything well: performance, fun factor, reliability, economy, practicality, and build quality...all wrapped up in a well packaged layout that has all the features you want but leaves solid backseat room and incredible cargo capacity.
Maybe the weight gain is associated with the AWD architecture? I’m sure it also has to do with ever-more-restrictive safety regs too. I guess AWD is the biggest advantage over a GTI/Miata/GT86, but that’s only if you really want AWD over RWD. And maybe the specialness factor? This is the same situation as that mini…
It is seriously gorgeous, especially that front end treatment, and I’ve always wanted it to succeed. But from everything I've read, it just doesn't. Unless styling is your top priority, there are many better options, and that's a shame.
This guy has a point.
Agreed. Any car with a convertible variant looks really unflattering, including mustangs, Camaros, any non-vert-native BMW or Audi, etc.
Charleston owner here. Top only comes off before 9am and after 7pm!
