you're missing my point. imo the arcade shooter series has gotten quite bland, repetitive, and based around the same gameplay. all i'm saying is that mechs and parkour in a twitch-style arcade shooter makes for a unique twist on the genre and maybe this will provide something different

i know they are quite different games, hardly in the same genre, but arguably battlefield offers a much greater diversity of experiences and playstyles

exactly. what makes battlefield a better game than cod is how much more you can do and how many different ways you can play. in cod, yeah you can put different guns and perks on your class, but in BF it determines how you play. plus, it's more than just different ways of shooting people. you have to deal with vehicles…

i'm just a fan of bungie's design, and the feel of the shooting in the halo series. yes, the graphics aren't "unique" like borderlands' cel-shading, but the design of the environments and stuff rocks.

i've always loved the burnout series, since burnout 3 i've played em all. I thought new hot pursuit ended up doing a good job combining the feel of both series, but most wanted had a shitty feel that didn't feel burnout or nfs.
