Well, no matter how stellar its use tonight was, YTW’s No Children montage still comes in (an admittedly close) second to the Moral Orel sequence, which I will forever consider one of the greatest soundtracking moments in 2000's TV.

At any rate, what an unbelievable slice of magic Falk n’co managed to make here. Good

Man, that shot of fetal position Jimmy with post-realisation Edgar spread-eagled on the floor surrounded by the crumpled pages has to be one of the most memorable ones from a whole season of standout cinematography.

Without a doubt a Emily Browning and Pablo Schreiber‘s scenes were the only most redeeming parts of this episode. Their performances were enjoyable and the writing had substance. It’s not for lack of talent in the other scenes. I found the dialogue of Shadow’s mother to be cliche. Curious to see what happens with the

One thing I won’t miss about the show is the endless comments on AVClub that seem to understand everyone is horrible but can’t resist trying to compare them? (and miraculously always seem to hate Lindsay more when legit everyone!is!horrible!)

These two are just in different stages of life, which used to matter less when they weren’t staring down a lifetime together, but now it might be too big an obstacle.

I was dense enough that I thought the opening scene factored into the party (like an in medias res thing) rather than being a flashforward. Now I’m wondering: is Edgar a groomsman, the groom, what?

I reserve the right to make up my own mind about this movie, regardless of online impressions. I still plan to go watch it as I have yet to be disappointed by a MCU film.

Ugh, with the way the pissy fanboys have been about this movie, I was really hoping it would be good just to shut them up.

I’m a big Sondheim fan and I felt like The Brown and The Beige and Richard Kind’s song felt like they echoed him pretty well.

Gretchen: “Did you know there was an eclipse last night?”

Jimmy: “No. Who cares?”

Gretchen: “I don’t know...dipshits like (looks up and sees Vernon, Becca and Paul at a table)... Oh, shit! I conjured them!”

Hee.

When you lean into a rhyme it shatters the conversational tone of the lyric, it’s like nails on a chalkboard to me, and I love you all.

Don’t forget don’t forget that Paul once had a really great girlfriend, Amy, a very compatible partner whom he inexplicably dumped in favour of Lindsay. I was hoping that he’d find her again once he recovered from his madness

The sex scene is also very much pulled straight from the Handmaid's Tale, down to Becca's red dress. Which elicited the biggest laugh of the episode at my house.

She was very clearly not wearing one a couple episodes back when she checked into the hotel in the flash forward.

gretchen telling rachel about her depression and then the end scene just rang verrrrry true ugh this show

you really have a problem with Jimmy’s honesty... you know its actually healthy as most people prefer truth over gaslighting.

This was the first episode I’ve seen this season, and I’m kicking myself for not setting aside time to watch it.

Aya Cash’s face for the 2020 Emmys. The scene where she breaks down in front of Rachel and the scene where she throws them out are masterclasses in frame-by-frame emotion shifts.

Gretchen intentionally sabotaging her and Jimmy’s potentially lifelong couple friendship in a matter of seconds was one of the most casually disturbing things I’ve seen on this show, and that’s saying a lot. Aya Cash really doesn’t get enough credit for her phenomenal portrayal of depression.

When I was younger, I really, really, really loved Lost In Translation.
