"Impossible Soul" makes so much sense as far as Sufjan goes, but "The Only Thing" will always be the song from him that I find most hopeful and moving, especially coming as it does after "Fourth of July" (maybe his most despondent).

Saw this at SIFF earlier this year and completely loved it, so I was really surprised at the negativity of this review. I thought the film did a fantastic job of capturing the confusion of being a 14-year old girl with a lot of humanity and some really creative visuals.

I saw the film this weekend, and agree with your assessment 100%. The animation during Monkey telling her origin story in the cave, and the look of those creepy sisters was especially wonderful, but it wasn't enough to make up for a story that seemed like it still needed a final draft.
King's Quest is the best.
