I guess it's a measure of both the writing and the strength of Ann Dowd's performance that if I could have, I wanted to leap through the TV screen to strangle the fuck out of Lydia during the interrogation of Offred.

The one part of this episode I had a hard time wrapping my head around was Ofglen's offhand remarks about NY and the idea Gilead was somehow able to take control of New York City and start blowing up St. Patrick's Cathedral.

See I have the opposite reaction, in that I find the change more believable and effective.

See the Turtle of Enormous Girth
On his shell he holds the Earth.
His thought is slow, but always kind.
He holds us all within his mind.
On his back all vows are made;
He sees the truth but mayn't aid.
He loves the land and loves the sea,
And even loves a child like me.

I will give Webb this…

I think everyone, on some level, has experienced this. There have been women in my life that I so badly wanted it to work with, and planned evenings where I was hoping it would be fantastic, and then for whatever reason it just wasn't. And you sit there wondering if you said this, or done that, would it have made a

Wouldn't they have HD versions of a few of the models? The Defiant appeared in First Contact, and the Klingon models have been in various movies. Also, I'm guessing whatever they recreated for TNG HD-ification could still be used, so the Cardassian ships should be available.

What if they didn't do entire seasons? Just redo some of the fan favorite episodes and maybe put it on the CBS streaming service as a way to draw Trek fans to Star Trek: Discovery.

Moore is also great in how well she sets up Donald Sutherland's performance. The scene at the golf course, where his character confronts Beth about how she treats her son is so great. He's the patriarch who loves his son, can see that he's hurting and can also see that Beth resents him in her actions.

If I remember right, David Cross got so much shit about being in these movies, he wrote an essay on why he did them. The wham line in it was something to the effect of: "When I go pay my mortgage they don't take street cred. You know what they do take? Money."

I had a black woman and a very dear friend tell me the way she saw things is, that in the most recent election, Trump gave people license to say and think how they really feel. And when a lot of white people were able to get into a voting booth, they rationalized away the racism and xenophobia, and showed what they

If we don't judge people by their actions (e.g., who they vote for) and the words they support, then how in God's name should we judge them? Don’t dare call it racist when people vote for someone advocating racist policies, because they were really voting out of economic frustrations, or to be anti-establishment, or

It's not the worst.

One thing that's irritated me since election day is the defense of Trump voters that I’ve seen from some pundits like Joe Scarborough, which is that since Barack Obama won in 2008 and 2012 in the rust belt, then that’s proof those voters aren’t racist and didn’t vote out of prejudice for Trump.

See, I don't get why he's not plausible.

I've wondered what Marvel Studios will do after they complete Infinity War.

I loved the scene in the hallway, where Ash is trying to half-reason with Kelly that there are no dragon demons, and he almost dismisses the idea of vampires as being ridiculous, before remembering that sunlight worked that one time (i.e., the beginning of Evil Dead 2).

The weird thing is that Starz has "Army of Darkness" on their streaming service, and can show the movie on its network, but can't actually mention anything from the movie in the series.
