Thanks for answering earnestly; and yes, PRC propaganda is deeply disturbing.

Yeah, whenever anyone tells me flying is safer than driving I’m always like, “well at least I have agency or the illusion of agency when driving a car, in a plane I’m just a captive participant in whatever happens”.

Crypto (KRIP-toe): noun. Fiat, but on a computer.

Ah, but what if all the banks “flew off the planet” AND the US government suddenly disappeared overnight! Eh? Didn’t think of that, did you!

if all the banks in the USA flew off the planet i would still have my money

This is the kind of catastrophically ridiculous thing that I absolutely love. If I had the money for something like this, I’d buy it. For a normal person, this is an obvious No Dice.

There have been studies showing school starts too early anyway - start the day an hour later instead.

I’ve heard this argument before, but judging by the giant crowd at every school before and after school, nobody’s kids are still walking to school.

There’s your problem,  They put the spark plugs in backwards...

Shift the school day an hour later.  The numbers on the clock face are arbitrary.

As long as I can disable that feature I don’t care too much.

People around ATL are bitching about $4.35/gal for regular, YET they will idle their gas guzzling pick-ups and Suburbans for 15 minutes or more in the line at Starbucks to pay five bucks for a 20 ounce latte.

I’m ok. I normally sleep on the floor of my kids’ bedroom. One of them has night terrors and needs daddy there when she wakes up. I keep a little mattress tucked under their bed just in case.

Adjusting to higher production costs due to inflation is not price gouging.

Any time I see an add for a car and the plate doesn’t match the state in which its for sale, I immediately get klaxons going off in my head. If its “in excellent running condition”, why is it not titled in the correct state? That plus the 5% tint, those wheels, and chunks missing from the tires makes me think this
