I alternate between hating and loving/appreciating the second film. I don't know what changes about me between re-viewings. I don't think it's a "bad" film, but it really wasn't the best continuation of the story.

I loved the third film as well, but didn't quite understand the "K is a grump" arc. Watch the first film again and you'll note that he's not exactly a stern figure. He smiles and makes jokes throughout.
