I can't believe you're arguing that sex performers shouldn't even try to improve their working conditions because there's a chance nothing will come of it.

Where is your source that sex performers have a lower rate of infection? Studies really don't suggest that. This very article doesn't either.

What I find confusing is how utterly devoted Volante is to an industry that mistreats its workers. She really seems to think that not mandating condoms is somehow more appropriate than actually caring for the health issues of performers.

I never said they deserve it. I simply said that nothing will change if they don't work towards change.

They don't have to have injuries if they choose to fight for workplace rights. Clearly they don't have it.

The porn industry isn't going to change if people keep compromising. What's more important, comfortable vaginas or humanized women?

No, I don't, and haven't.

No, I won't, because sex workers don't know what's good for them as well as health workers.

Then don't wear condoms. You're not being paid to wear them in a work environment, so your situation is not applicable.

I never said I was morally superior, nor that my opinion holds more authority. It's not my place to say. It is, however, the place of health services and they did.

How is that condescending? Is she a medical professional? Probably not. Is he a therapist? Probably not. She can't say. Neither can I.

Oh, right. Belladonna was that former Mormon porn star who was abused by the industry. Homeless at 15, performing at bachelor parties and in sex magazines before 18. Good example.

Then Belladonna, whoever she is, is likely abusing her performers as well.

You don't need to wear heels as a cocktrail waitress.

Good for you. Doesn't mean you have any say in what is healthy or objectifying. Having sex with anyone for more than an hour at a time is not in their best interest.

Just because they're women doesn't mean they have an impartial look at the issue. They can't exactly speak out on the industry when they're in it.

Maybe the porn industry shouldn't treat women as sex dolls and not force them to have sex for hours at a time.

Maybe don't have sex for two hours? Read a book or do something productive.

Maybe the porn industry shouldn't treat women as sex dolls and not force them to have sex for hours at a time. Don't blame condoms, blame the misogynistic industry.
