Leguizamo was an inspired choice, certainly, who did well with the character he was given, but a more straightforward adaptation should have called for someone better.

I never said that he also wasn't a slut/whore/whatever.
Cheating is a conscious effort that you work towards before the act itself. It is not simply a "mistake," as this site and other commentators seem to think. You are very right in that we shouldn't dismiss her actions as that of someone who doesn't know better.
A woman who cheats on her significant other with another man who is himself in a relationship is the definition of a "giant whore." Slut-shaming is very appropriate in this situation.
Ignoring racism and the social reasons behind it will not make it go away.

People like the movie. It has something to offer.
Hoskins didn't do any serious stunts in the making of Super Mario Bros., though he did get banged up regardless via numerous accidents. At least it wasn't him and Leguizamo jumping from the overpass into the passing garbage truck; the stunt doubles missed and broke their ankles.

Which is odd considering he was in both Spice World and Son of the Mask. Hoskins just didn't have a fun time making Super Mario Bros.; he doesn't mind the film itself.
Do you know just how common this statement is? Seriously, check out the Super Mario Bros. The Movie Archive linked in the above article and find out just how many other fans there are.
He's the best choice they could have cast at the time, beating out DeVito entirely. Bruno Kirby was still an interesting consideration.
Almost every other aspect is just as good, I would argue.
A coloring book as oddly unnecessary as the one made for Lynch's Dune.
Guns didn't seem to be much help for the crime rate pre-'70s.
Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. It's a waste of time and money.
Once again, why does that even matter? How does it apply to daily life? I can't even see how it would potentially affect space travel, which is the only real necessary application of such physics research.
What I wonder is why this even matters outside of a good science fiction story.
No 'realistic' version of Mario can ever top Hoskins portrayal. He was just perfect. Say what you want about Leguizamo as Luigi or Hopper as Koopa, Hoskins nailed it.
