Welp, I sat through her yelling-at-people “comedy,” and this take on “curation” sounds like your friend-of-a-friend who just graduated Smith yelling comments out about mean old dead white men from across the room.

She has an UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE in Art History, which is exactly what I have and about a million other Americans who were underachieving dilettantes in college.

I wouldn’t say I’m a huge Gadsby fan or detractor, but it is mystifying why anyone would want to highlight her Picasso fixation, which (as a miserable MFA myself) I always though was easily the weakest aspect of Nanette.

Heh. I remember a coworker recommended it. After I watched it, I realized that I really shouldn’t take his recommendations on comedy any more.

I can’t remember the context of the Picasso criticism in Nanette, but mostly what I remember about that special is trying to explain why I hated it as nicely as possible to the person who *very* enthusiastically showed it to me.

Just because people dont want a black actress to portray a white mermaid doesnt mean they are racist. Mermaid folklore mainly comes from European countries. Hence the white skin and red hair of Ariel.

Come on now. I say this as someone who counts Lost inarguably as one of the most important shows of all time and The Leftovers as one of the very best, thinking HBO’s Watchmen even comes remotely close to the majority of Moore’s body of work (let alone its source material) is insane.
