Combat troops have a higher expectation for de-escalation than the police. It’s fucking ridiculous and it’s lazy and it’s clearly lethal.

I don’t know much about police training, but it certainly seems that they spend far too little time on teaching situational awareness, de-escalation and effective policing techniques. Police are necessary, but their attitudes combined with their lack of training is just ridiculous and dangerous.
