We haven’t even officially taken Turkey to task over the Armenian genocide 100 years ago, so I’m not getting my hopes up that we’ll call them out on this either.

Ok, so, story time, ‘cause I’m not sure how else I can really build the background of why this article disgusts me so much without telling my New Orleans story first. Sorry that it’s practically an op-ed but there is a lot of background to it and I’m not sure my anger makes as much sense without it because to me this…
One of my friends is a teacher there, I have seen SO many frustrated tweets in the past few years about the current system hampering the teachers from doing their jobs properly.
Protect the unborn at all costs!!!!!!!
If only it was possible to become very clumsy with hot beverages whenever talk like that started up, without having to worry about getting fired.
Aaaaaah she kinda does!!! I wonder if that’s more a product of bad Photoshopping/weird lighting, or if Kim is just gradually morphing herself into a Beyonce clone.
They messed with her face on that cover, it looks weird.
I am amazed at the condition that’s in. That jacket predates my great-grandmother, ffs!
I love Keira to bits but good god A Dangerous Method was terribad. Billie was a great Sally Lockhart, who’s very modern for being a girl in a corset, but she was woefully miscast as Fanny Price. But then, I really liked the version of Mansfield Park with Frances O’Connor even though they strayed so, so far from the…
Putting aside for just a minute that Indiana Jones is pure fiction, the first film was set in the 1930s, less than a decade after Carter’s discovery of Tut’s tomb. Back then treasures to put in museums (and the fame of making the discovery) were what archaeologists were primarily looking for, but modern archaeology…
Ok, that was worth looking up on YouTube! Jane Fonda’s intro is such a contrast to the boring way they do it now.
I’m getting Sean Bean as Vronsky realness from this pic, and I like it.
If it wasn’t for the fact that she just had a baby three months ago they probably would have tried to.
It relied on tropes a bit but it was okay if you just want to watch something feel-good and girl powery. It also has Rupert Graves as Lily’s overbearing former trackstar dad and Bradley James as the physio that both girls have a thing for.
She did a movie a few years ago called Fast Girls with Lenora Crichlow from Being Human. It really wanted to be Bend It Like Beckham for track running.
Yeah, I’m right there with ya. Back when her first album came out one of my friends just raved about it so I gave it a shot, but her voice made it unlistenable for me.
Where was it that there weren’t street signs in New Orleans? It’s been a while since I was there but I definitely remember street signs.
I don’t see myself as solidly either one of those two tourist types. If a touristy site is interesting to me for whatever reason, I’ll go see it; if it isn’t, then I’ll find something else instead. It’s still been about 7 or 8 years since I had a real travel vacation, though. Sadly I am now in the “can’t afford it”…
Oh yes. The “Bellissima!” sketch.
For international trips I may start packing only a few basics plus whatever I’m wearing, and budget for some local clothes shopping when I get there. That way I have less to pack initially and I get to bring back some cool new clothes that I wouldn’t find at home. My laziness and my closet both win!
