You have to work with what you have. The best case scenario is a heavily watered down Trump agenda.

Sigh ... nope.
I hope Chuck Schumer is ready. He’s going to be the most powerful Democrat left in our government after the inauguration.
Empire by Trump
I’m aware that they can’t force him to sign bills.
Round up a group of like minded parents, find the bully’s parents and savagely beat them with hard, blunt objects if they refuse to believe their child could say such terrible things
They may, but the supporters of his who comprise the group that “want it all burnt to the ground” are not even close to being a perfect overlap with the people who voted for Trump on general election day.
I had this discussion at a work happy hour with mixed company last night. I quoted Scut Farkus (The bully from A Christmas Story) “Cry for me now crybaby!” and asked them if they ever thought Trump would actually act as if he had won the Presidency.
But the thing is, I’m counting on the Republicans being chicken shit in what I am saying could happen. If Trump is dragging them all off the edge of a cliff, they’ll absolutely cut him loose.
Again, signing something into law doesn’t mean you like and approve of the decision to do it.
Oof, talk about revisionist history.
From a character sense, but from a power sense, the President isn’t a king. If Republicans in Congress decide his agenda doesn’t work for them, which I think isn’t out of the question if mid terms don’t look like they are going to go their way in a year or so, then they will not give him the legislation he wants. …
I generally agree, though I would say that if he does something so horrendously stupid & illegal that they think they could be facing a 1932 style genocide of Republicans in Congress, then it’s a possibility.
I don’t know about getting impeached, but I do think there’s a good possibility he could wind up in a situation where either the Republicans in Congress basically treat him like King Tommen from the Game of Thrones novels (as compared to the show).
What sort of pansy ass nancy boy of a President have we elected if he’s going to cry about a few thousand protesters being “unfair”?
No, they aren’t. If your political ideology includes raising taxes on the wealthy at all, it is ridiculous to say you are center right.
I’m sorry but this is just delusional. Bernie got annihilated by HRC among minorities. The notion that, at the margins, he wouldn’t have lost even more of the minority vote than she did relative to Obama is not based in a realistic evaluation of the facts available.
I mean, mayyyyyybe.
On balance, relative to the prior election, uneducated whites (which correlates with poor though not perfectly of course) absolutely contributed to him winning.
That’s a fair distinction. Still, that just makes it even more compelling. “See, even terrible reality television stars can be President!”
