Well since the marriage licensee doesn’t say “I Kim Davis approve of this marriage.” or “I Kim Davis hereby grant a license to marry before God” then there’s nothing to change and if she doesn’t like it she can go work for a church where they can freely refuse to serve gay all they want.

Nope. My problem is with a bigot that thinks they are entitled to a government job that they do not want to do for “religious reasons.”

1) Catholicism is irrelevant here. This is in the Bible. Jesus spoke to this topic directly. If she chooses to ignore Jesus’ direct teaching on remarriage after a divorce, then it weakens her religious argument that she is doing this because Jesus.

I disagree that it’s just about wording. I would bet money that even if the wording were changed like you’re saying, she still wouldn’t sign it. This is about denying gay people the right to marry.

If it’s just a form then why not sign it as is. Also, for changing the form your beef is with the conservative Kentucky legislature. They could have easily changed the laws but chose not to.

By your logic if a Muslim is working at the DMV as a supervisor; he has a right to refuse women licenses and that belief must be honored and accommodated because it’s the “least restrictive means”.

According to Davis’ own Christian beliefs, she is living in sin, having gotten divorced and remarried, which the Bible is very clear about being bad. So she is a hypocrite who has failed to live up to the Christian ideals of marriage three times. By her own beliefs, she shouldn’t have been issued marriage licences for

Some people got really upset with me, days and weeks after my straight, Catholic, marriage ceremony, when they asked if it felt different to be married, and I answered honestly: no, our relationship is exactly the same. It’s how other people perceive our relationship that is different. Between the two of us? Nothing

You can sure as shit find “dignity” guaranteed in the Declaration of Independence, though. :( I get a rage stroke whenever I hear her open her mouth.

She’s one of those assholes who launches a verbal grenade and then either denies ever saying it or says she’s “just being honest,” as if that absolves her statement.

Remember to always be yourself. Unless you suck. - Joss Whedon

She needs to do a George Costanza and just do the opposite of what comes naturally, for sure.

Word.

“I don’t think ...” that’s her most honest statement to date

“I don’t think dignity is guaranteed in the Constitution. I think dignity is something that you find within yourself,” Davis said. “I feel really sad that … someone could be so unhappy with themselves as a person that they did not feel dignified as a human being until they got a piece of paper. I mean, there’s just

Will you be my spirit animal?

“I’m just being me.”

Face....off?

Davis is grateful to her supporters, although she doesn’t really understand what all the fuss is about. “I’m just being me,” she told Faris as if she were being interviewed about having a really quirky personality instead of her choice to openly discriminate against people whose relationships aren’t “valid in God’s

Gah! I just want to slap that smug, self-satisfied face off.
