Regarding the zipper merge. I learned to drive in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Everybody knows how to zipper merge. When I moved to Alberta in 2000 I was shocked that nobody in the entire God-foresaken city of Calgary knows how to zipper merge. Nobody. It’s all just jockeying for space and “fuck you cowboy,

“I was never afraid before you showed up.” That line delivery will go in the history books. Just fucking sublime.

The first thing I saw her in was 24, and she was wonderful. She more than held her own with Sutherland, which is especially impressive given that he’d already inhabited Jack Bauer for six full seasons at that point. It was great to see her pop up in Bosch as well, and she was one of the bright spots in Picard, too.

This isn’t all that complicated.

Glad to see all the love for Everything Everywhere All at Once, especially in having both Jamie Lee Curtis and Stephanie Hsu nominated for Best Supporting Actress. I hope it wins all the awards it’s up for.

I think it’s pretty shitty of them to nominate Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Haven’t seen the movie, I don’t care if she was terrible in it. She’s 12, she doesn’t deserve to be called out like this.

I think this has been the most times I’ve heard Anna Torv say “fuck” in a series. I liked it!

I used twitter exclusively through tweetbot. tweetbot’s been down since whenever and I haven’t missed twitter at all.

I’m assuming he’s another nepo baby but his dad is just really, really quiet about it.

I thought Prodigy started out pretty dull (the lead was particularly annoying), but by the middle of the season it had become one of the better modern Treks. The last few episodes were absolutely fantastic. I wish the series had been covered better here.

Hey some of us weirdos park our Ferraris and other exotics on the streets at times. But shame you never ran into my big ole boy, he’s always parked outside and starts right up :)

That protruding cabinet at the top of the stairs is for the bowl everyone tosses their keys into at the beginning of the party.

It was rather Tarantino-esque.

I have an alternate suggestion: just watch Clue 20 times and enjoy the ride.

Brick is amazing. All the tropes of a hard-boiled detecive story transposed to high school. No one calls the police because its not that kind of film: adults barely feature for purely stylistic reasons. And it works. Easily Johnson’s best movie.

Is it weird that my first thought when reading this goes back to another Jalopnik writer's trip to a Chinese automakers extremely dangerously half-assed autocross event?

This is easily the most interesting Jalopnik article of the year.

Is this a case of “saving the company” or more of a “cut ALL the expenses so I can claim to have increased profits for a massive bonus before I jump ship on the drained husk of the once thriving company” situation?

I enjoyed The Nevers and would love to watch the rest of “season 1" but if it’s an original HBO production how would it end up on another streamer/network? And wouldn’t they still have to pay residuals which is what they’re trying to avoid?

Since it seems like panel show people are their target, Dara O’Brien is free...
