I had ZERO problem with it until I saw the trailer. That's not a problem with the cast, that's a problem with literally everything else.

Your analogy sucks. The reactions to the god awful Ghostbusters trailer are not "sight unseen". The horribleness of "what we've seen" is exactly what we are reacting to.
