There is also a unit conversion error.   -79 C is -110 F.

They should also require a matching donation to a fund for high-speed rail or something.  In the U.S., flying is the only way to get across the country in a timely matter, but I don’t think it has to be.

It’s not them who are doing the drinking.  (I doubt they drink out of anything that doesn’t come from a bottle.)  It’s the non-native species of grass taking in all that potable water.

Old Man Pike said no matter what he tries to change, it will always result in Spock’s death.

I teach high school Earth Science, and one thing I’ve noticed when covering human energy use is that students have a lot of weird misconceptions. When I poll them on what energy sources they think are best and why, one frequent response is that they like natural gas, because it’s “natural.” Yep, that dumb marketing

After their characterization in the Mandalorian and Boba Fett, I kind of want to see a show about a Jawa hero.  It could be fun.

That’s fine.  USB-C is superior in every way.

I think that if Paramount wants to make a Star Trek movie, they should do it with one of their television casts.  I liked (but didn’t love) the Kelvin Universe Star Trek movies, and I think one issue is that Star Trek as a franchise is so different from others.  It’s not just legacy characters, and it’s certainly less

I didn’t get the impression they were harshly isolationist or especially militaristic. They had a defensive footing and were more closed off, but had not become murderous xenophobes or anything. From what I could tell, they just turned inward as interstellar trade became all but impossible. They had to defend

Star Trek movies can be good, but I feel like it’s a franchise that just does better on the small screen.  Whether it’s episodic Trek telling little humanistic morality tales or serial storytelling really exploring something deep, Trek tends to work best.  I’ll probably watch a new Star Trek movie, but it’s the shows

In this case, I think it is because Anson Mount and Ethan Peck as Pike and Spock, respectively, were really fantastic on Discovery. People wanted more, and they’re getting more.

Last year, I finally watched Star Trek: Enterprise. (When it aired, I was put off by the godawful intro music and exploitative decontamination scene in the first two-parter.) The show was decent Star Trek, and I definitely loved Shran. It was a shame it got cancelled when it finally found its narrative rhythm, and I

I’m a high school teacher, and our school has been affected by this one quite a bit. Miscreants denuded the boys’ bathroom of all of the soap dispensers and swiped at least one urinal, not to mention a bunch of random crap like outlet covers in various rooms.  This one has been a real menace and isn’t something easy

There are plenty of dioecious (two houses) trees in the world that separate their sexes. In fact, knowing this is important for urban foresters, as sometimes, one of the sexes will produce something noxious that the other does not. For example, female Ginkgo biloba trees produce a fruit-like cone that smells terrible,

Is anybody else wanting Two-Gun Kid showing up in She-Hulk?  His addition to the She-Hulk comics arc over a decade ago was hilarious.  His transfer through time has a TVA connection, and if they want to make She-Hulk kind of mad-cap (and they should) he would be a lot of fun to add onto her team.

I’m not sure we’re watching the same show here.

I think Saru is ultimately finding his place as a diplomat.  I think it would be really cool and very Star Trek to have a heroic diplomat as a lead character.

But you can play fun games with MtG cards.

Star Wars is intentionally for kids. That was what George Lucas aimed for, and his greatest successors have continued with children in mind. Rogue One was a fine Star Wars movie and was more mature than most of the rest of Star Wars, but I think it aimed to attract children as well.

Can we get Tom Hanks cast as the villain?  That would be epic.
