Open Source Software people vehemently disagree. The entire driving philosophy for a lot of those people is that software tools are free to contribute to and free to use without the quid pro quo of you sacrificing something like privacy to use the product.

I agree. He’s right to be concerned about Google’s reach, but I do have a conflicting opinion:

Some (like this author) will look at these numbers and imply that these workers must be poor and that this isn’t a living wage and that GM (and other automakers) are ripping off Mexican workers.
