Markets love a split government, primarily because it’s much harder for the government to do anything really stupid or disruptive. When there’s a mandate, things get scary for investors.

Dude this is Jalopnik.... hot takes that are really hot garbage only. Please and thank you.

The only people who cared about the name weren't going to buy them anyways. GM could've named it Camaro II and it would've sold just as well.

1st Gear: Naming conventions be damned the Blazer and Trailblazer are both actually really good vehicles and they are both selling like hot cakes.

Yeah, it’s all kinds of not good. The truck’s rocker panels have rotted away since you saw it. I’m going to have those redone by my favorite cheap body shop. I'll replace the trailer hitch before I tow again.

Man, I know it. My buddy Paul was driving an M-Roadster with a bunch of Dinan parts, and he ended up trading it for an E46 M3 with the SMG.

This makes me think I should get under my ‘99 Suburban later today and make sure my trailer hitch is not rotted...

Yeah, the SMG II from these is really awful. The SMG III I had paired to the nonsense V10 is head and shoulders better.

If it was some random other manual I’d be with ya, but it’s the getrag that should’ve come with it. A test drive would likely tell you all you need to know about how it’s functioning.

The SMG transmissions were awful and prone to failure. I don’t blame the guy for replacing it with a manual when the SMG gave up the ghost.

I’m in the same boat.  I’d want to know some serious details about who did the conversion and what other gremlins it might have unleashed.

Hmmmmm. Not sure what to make of this. All of that expensive work, a new (?) transmission, new wheels, not a ton of miles (we’ve got a 2007 328ix that’s north of 175K right now) and much etc. Yet now he’s got it for sale? I don’t grok that, but hey, life events especially in 2020 are like that . . .

Nothing, you voted correctly.

The E46 is overshadowed in stupidity by the nonsense V10 M5, so people have forgotten just how bad the SMG version of this ride could be. That’s why my first instinct on looking at this ad was to find the correct number of pedals. (Three. The answer is three pedals.)

I read the headline and then scrolled down to jam the NP button, what’d I miss?

Zoiks!

Eh, it’s just the rear brakes. I’ve driven XJs on only fronts; it’s not the end of the world for a few trips to the store and back.

Let me give you a little more data. Yesterday I climbed under my ‘06 Sierra to replace the rotted out rear bumper. What I found under there, were two giant holes in the trailer hitch. I have towed 4k pounds with this truck as recently as 7 weeks ago. This scared the crap out if me.

I’m gonna grab some 1/8" steel and my Harbor Freight welder and GO TO TOWN.

I grew up in Pennsylvania moved to Michigan. Lived in Michigan for five years and moved back to PA. I have a few thoughts.
