I’m a cheap bastard, really. The one vehicle I’d walk into a dealership seriously ready to put down money is a Jimny (converted cost ~$21k). I’m interested in a new Bronco if it has a removable top, since I made the huge mistake of letting go of my K5. But the price of all new cars today keep me at arms length, even

I’m extremely excited. My first car was a ‘90 Bronco and this new one has me extremely excited.

Trying to organize an intervention for David after he said he made an offer on what he calls “the rustiest pickup truck”.

Ford wouldn’t cannibalize the Ranger like that.

It is good that we will finally have a reasonably priced anti-Jeep here very soon. I don’t want an FJ cruiser and an old Montero/Pajero import doesn’t have the safety features I want. Thank god every leading indicator so far has reinforced that Ford is not screwing around and will deliver a properly capable off roader.

man alive tho, 30k for a turbocharged 10 speed 4x4 is too much? I realize wages are stagnant but 30k is not bad at all for what you will get.

I can’t wait for the plastic clad overpriced roof racks and chunky plastic bins for the cargo area that can easily be rolled into my payment!

“Ford is anticipating first-year sales of up to 200,000 Bronco and Bronco Sport models sold in the first year they’re in production, according to the report.”

“I won’t know if Ford has mastered the first or second part of that formula until the Bronco and the “Baby Bronco,” which will reportedly actually be called the “Bronco Sport,” it seems like Ford is planning to make sure the third part nailed down.”

I am really curious to see where the Bronco falls on a scale of 4Runner to Wrangler. I would think if they use what they know from the Raptor they can build something far better than either of those on-road and somewhere close to the Wrangler off road.

As a Wrangler owner, let me assert how much I loathe those angry eyes.

I am without a doubt more excited about the Bronco than any other new model. I cannot wait.

*struck dead by predictable joke gods*

“they need to feel that they got a “deal”.”

I have to disagree. If it wasn’t for the iPod and subsequent iPhone, Apple would not be around today. Period.

had Apple not made the move to sell their own products directly, the company would not be here today.

I say let the manufacturers try it out - kinda like the way an Apple store works.

The notion that dealers can fight direct sales is the very essence of the problem. They SHOULD fight sales with providing a better experience, instead they want to fight direct sales like they are mobsters. That’s not fighting, that’s taking your ball and going home.

+1 for fitting in “origami” in a thread about a Japanese car
