Not really. See, I still care deeply about automobiles. That’s why I’m on here every day. That’s why I can name every car I pass on the road, year-make-and-model. That’s why I do my own wrenching and would love to have a project car sitting in my garage/driveway right now. I haven’t “given up” on cars, merely that I

By these tokens, the end result is Miata and a small trailer.

Best car I ever had in the snow, was also the worse. I had a Fiero 2M4. What made it great in the snow was the total lack of power. I could have covered the tires in bacon grease and parked it in a hockey rink and still found it impossible to chirp the tires. I could go anywhere in that car... as long as the snow was

In your pathetic little rage, you’ve failed to address both the fact that every version of my crossover gets better fuel economy than certain models of the equivalent sedan, and also the fact that my crossover is compliant with 2019 model year CAFE standards for a passenger car. Nice try, though.

Settle down, Bevis.

These are the kind of aggressive generalizations that ruin blogs like these. Please stop.

For whatever it’s worth, I’ll give you my own anecdotal experience. I used to drive “spiritedly” every day. I used to feel as you do, that the only people who drive Toyotas are people that don’t give a shit

People like me that have high centered a car on a snow hidden curb will like ground clearance advantage of the Rav4 in bad weather too.

Totally agree. I don’t see the appeal of the 3 box. A wagon I understand, but trunks are stupid.

lmao at the idea Honda is any less of an appliance than Toyota.

To drive 9 miles at 45 mph? Why? There are situations where appliances are called for. This is one. My commute is so short I save no time on the Ducati, when you count pushing to the curb, gear on, gear off, pushing back into garage. I don’t want my neighbors to hate me,so I’m not firing up the Evo at 5 AM, the drive

CVT’s aren’t that bad especially if you have a little torque or an electric motor behind it. I’m really, beyond happy with the one in my ‘13 Camry Hybrid. It just works, mash the pedal and go with no more lag and smoother than any of the 3/4-speed autos I’ve ever owned.

In many respects this shows exactly why sedans are dying. This Camry is a perfectly good car for 90% of the US population needs. You can get anywhere you need to go, carry everything you need to carry, etc with a Camry AWD. And it will do it inoffensively for an offensive amount of time.

nah, you can actually get a Honda that is pretty fun to drive. ...and Honda drivers aren’t soulless, left lane camping, self absorbed assholes (generally. an Odyssey driver is out to kill you as much as a Chevrolet truck driver.)

What is bullshit is the cheap $250/set nonsense people replace the stock tires with after they’ve ridden them down to the belts. Stock tires are fine; they’re usually some standard-range Continentals or Bridgestones.

View must be nice from your high horse is it?

By the same token, by the time you option up an ES, you might as well get an S-class. And if you are getting the S-class, you might as well get the AMG. If you are spending for the AMG, you might as well get the Maybach edition. If you are spending that much, you might as well get a Rolls Royce. But what advantages

Stock tires are bullshit - not really.

Every part of your comments is easily falsifiable nonsense.

I’d rather have a refrigerator and work from home than own a Camry, or any transportation appliance, or any Toyota for that matter.

If I’m going to spend $35,000 on a V6 Camry, I’ll just spend the extra to upgrade to the Avalon, which comes standard with that V6. It’s vastly nicer.
