Oh, thanks for clearing it up.
Oh, thanks for clearing it up.
Meh, it’s a different application of ALPR that I’m involved in. I hate saying it on this site, because toll roads are evil and all, but that’s where I’m at: people who don’t want to pay tolls and get pictures of their plates taken (small part of the full systems that I’m a part of). There is no GPS tagging being done…
I think one such example is Hostess (2012), after the company had lost ~$300 million the previous year, and had a net loss of $1.1 billion in fiscal 2012. But I’m not going to get trapped in this particular argument, because I can guarantee it’s too subjective. I’ll say, ‘look at company X.’ Then you’ll say, ‘nuh uh,…
What is your definition of a living wage?
Preach.
“It’s weird that unions would cause their raison d’être to collapse by making unreasonable demands.”
That’s hilarious, on me. ALPR is an integral part of my job, but I’ve never worked on our foreign projects so I had no idea.
And That's another thing that I love about Hawaii.
Can I ask why you keep saying ‘ANPR’ instead of ‘ALPR’? What’s a “nicense plate?”
ALPR is GPS tagging now? Jesus, did I miss a big gap in the Jalopnik comments section??
And...? I don’t personally use those services (“can I use the store card, please?” to get the discount), but there seem to be millions of people who are fine with that. They don’t link barcodes to credit card #’s, that’s very, super illegal; but those reward programs... game on.
OMG, this is such a terrible “argument” that it’s literally going to make me leave this comment section now. If a cop runs your plate with his eyes and a laptop, and consequently pulls your criminal ass over because of something that came up, and THEN gets your [all that] information from that, and your damn driver’s…
LMAO! Best one... at least ask first.
But they have been running goddamn plates for decades!! I posted a story about being pulled over by a cop who read my plate at 45 mph from a stop, and still pulled out in enough time to get me at the next intersection. NO ALPR. You have to post better arguments (like when you’re talking about collection of data and…
Why was she in the left lane!??
Fucking right?? Where’s ol’ ‘left lane is for passing’ when you need him?
Only related to insurance ‘rules’(if you don’t have anyone else covered on your policy), but most certainly not “illegal.”
Daaaaaaammmmmmn!! I sure hope someone thinks I’m that popular!
Are you getting harassed on the daily?
That’s because no state/city/town has the money to do that kind of software work in-house. It HAS to go through another company who specializes in only that (or related), and has contracts with dozens or more other local and state (and Federal) agencies. There are LOADS of NDAs and such that have to be signed, too.…
