I was wondering how Claire was going to put a paper around a whole cabbage :)

I had a less than favourable outcome with my raised beds... Last year I used a product “Grampie’s Super Soil”... Which from its name would suggest it is a soil. It is in fact peat + municipal compost. Causing all sorts of problems - blossom rot in Tomatoes. When I asked the company for advice (before finding out

Acadians came from New Brunswick & Nova Scotia... Many years ago I was talking to a a person running a “Cajun” Food Truck .. their last name was “Boudreaux” ... I asked did they know how to tell the difference between New Brunswick Boudreaux & a Louisiana Boudreaux.... The Louisiana Boudreaux’s were more fun ... She

If you can get the “neck” cut roast with lots of garlic & rosemary and canned whole tomato. Makes a lamb “spare rib” kid of dish!

Moved to Canada lost both ... but GOT healthcare.

It’s been a couple of years since I was at TJ’s. Now living in Canada don’t have access. But when I did make a TJ run Saffron! Good stuff inexpensive there and came in “cute” glass jars .. Was about $5.00 a jar.

Beurre a Monte ... a pat of butter to any sauce or soup just before serving... (and it goes without saying Pasta).

We were buying a new house remotely and counted on the Inspectors ... some were very good (one included a recall track monitor all appliances) one discovered the septic tank was made out of wood! Funny enough the least thorough inspector was the one we bought - few things that were missed others We knew had to be

A replacement breaker panel & statute upgrades should cost under $2k... Upgrades include putting GFI outlets in kitchen & Bathroom. Personally seeing a fuse box would make me think of the service rating ... trigger my antenna about knob & tube - especially if the receptacles around the house were only twin wired... I

Good Idea to seperate the cloves from the oil (although the high temps will help Oil + Garlic = Potential Botulism)
