It’s not about dismissing critics or people who do or don’t look like me. It’s about an obviously white person, with a tremendous amount of privilege, saying how marginalized people should feel.
You wrote a lot of words. My take away, you’re white.
What about for sanitation workers? People that ride around on the truck and pick up trash. That doesn’t require a college education. It’s difficult and society would literally crumble with out trash collectors. I’d argue they’re more important than preschool teachers (more important than what I do as well).
Educators should make more, as should people in retail. They are both necessary.

But Macklemore is doing what every white person should be doing. Continue to do whatever it is you do, be vocal about your privilege and promote those without privilege. Macklemore regularly features women, people of color and gay artists. He highlights the work they do. What else is he supposed to do?
