Its absolutely not a cheat mode. It's made for people who just want to have fun with the game. The people who just want to press buttons and enjoy themselves. And if they want to do more and get serious then they move to classic controls. Cheating implies they have an inherent advantage.

As somebody who just button-mashed these games in the past (as did all of my friends), this sounds like a feature that might actually make these games a lot more fun to play for us, because it might allow us to have at least some amount of tactical decision-making.

I doubt he is talking about the crusty Millienials. LOL

Exactly, same. And I’m bad at Smash (I fully understand that to be good at it you need to invest in one or a few characters and really get to know them), but I can play as anyone and have fun. I’m generally so bad with Street Fighter and other traditional fighting games that anyone who at all knows what they’re doing

Before you decide to denigrate “Millineals” maybe you should learn how to spell “Millennials”. Though I guess misspelling words and not noticing and/or caring when insulting others is its own “cheat mode” too, huh?

OR you can look at it as making it easier for people to enjoy their product, you pompous ass :)

You realize older millennials are in their 40s, right? Exactly how old are you???

Oooh, edgy.

Not the first time such a system exists, by Capcom no less:

The Modern input style is hardly a cheat, since it prevents you from doing certain kinds of movements/tech that you’ll need beyond beginner level. So its just like training wheels; it makes it easier to get started, but it eventually puts you at a disadvantage until you switch.

These games always make it clear to me that Western & Chinese/Asian people would rather have their avatars f*ck green orcs and horned/horny aliens than they would any dark(er)-skinned homo sapiens (unless the person is a medium/dark-skinned latina).

Corporate opinion tends to follow the money. And sex sells. Steam likely just realized that the bulk of their customers doesn’t reflect the moral outrage of society as a whole. That is, maybe until we see something like RapeLay coming to Steam, too. Maybe.

It’s just still strange to me how only maybe 5-6 years ago Steam were aggressively defending their stance of banning anything with explicit sexual content as a main focus or had it at all yet now every day there’s yet another Western VN game in the “New & Trending” section.

Oof, I was at corporate for 15 or so years. 2004 to 2019. I was there through the EB Merger, the Think Geek acquisition, when GameStop operated a bunch of AT&T and Simply Mac stores for a couple years. The rise and fall, really. I probably should have left sooner, I immediately made a ton more money when I did decide

You could get Cyberpunk dirt cheap brand new from pretty much any retailer shortly after release, but keep jerking yourself off over GameStop I guess.

Am I the only one who thought the weakest part of the SF trailer was like...the actual fighting?

I personally felt the complete opposite.

Why does SF need an open world? If Capcom wanted to give any fighting game an open world it should be Final Fight. That makes far more sense.

The creative director of Dead Space is helming it, so it should be VERY Dead Space.

I’m a more than a little pumped. EA can shove the remake up their tailpipe.

Callisto Protocol looks like a cheesy, tropey Dead Space knockoff.
