Read Erika Johansen’s “Tearling” trilogy. That’s a rather successful critique of socialism and capitalism (it directly talks about socialism in both the main sequence plots and the other ones; capitalism criticisms have to be inferred).

I understand what you’re saying, but others may take your advice too literally, in a sense. We cannot really use the quantifiers of one intrinsic metric of an industry in another industry, and still hope for a meaningful result.

You seem to be under the impression that statistically aggregated metrics would automatically transform subjectivity into objectivity. This is not truly the case; subjectivity is carried forward similarly to how error is propagated from the beginning of a calculation to its ultimate conclusion.
