As someone who is Eastern Band Cherokee (and my grandmother's name on the Cherokee rolls to prove it, unlike Depp), I have to say that I am now so happy that an actual NDN actor like Adam Beach or one of those werewolf guys didn't play Tonto, given how much the movie apparently sucks.

Two of the funniest things Short ever did was the Irving Cohen and Katherine Hepburn's nephew bit. The 90th birthday of Irving Cohen was an awesome send up of those dopey tribute shows that the networks used to run. And Katherine Hepburn's nephew as a skeevy hotdog vendor was genius.
