David O. Russell with Accidental Love, a.k.a. Nailed.

The Other Site, a.k.a. our dearly departed Dissolve.

Well, there's nothing WRONG with liking Jurassic World. You're entitled to like it, of course. I was just jesting, because I am of the opinion that it was very, very bad. A lot of other people seem to feel the same way, now that I think of it.

Or that X-Men issue where he teams up with Arcade and falls in love with Storm. A lot of bad guys fall in love with Storm.

Uh…really? Jurassic World doesn't count as a strikeout?

Well, it depends on how successful this movie is. If it's a modest hit, they may try to use the X-Men crossover as a springboard for more Fantastic Four movies. If it's a failure, then they might not want to risk having it seep into their X-Men stuff, which is already consistently successful and popular-though

Good call.

Jurassic World is a B- until you start considering how soulless, lazy, and uninspired it is. Then it drops down to about a D.

Hollywood producer: "WAIT, this guy is a sorcerer AND a mad scientist AND a dictator!?!? That's three things. Two too many things. You know what, we're just gonna make him some kinda computer whiz. The kids'll eat that shit up."

This film has had nothing but negative word of mouth leading up to its release, and the reviews are almost uniformly bad. Combine that with how unappealing—dull, gray, and humorous—the movie looks, I don't think it will attract a big viewership, especially children. It might make decent money because of name

I don't really get the joke. The A.V. Club has been pretty lenient on bad films in recent years—almost to the point where they're going easy on stuff that deserves to be brought down a few more pegs. Hell, the Vacation reboot only got a C and Jurassic World a B-.

Perhaps predictable isn't the right word, but they're mostly pretty…easy. Someone else mentioned "Escape" playing during the prison escape sequence. There's also "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" playing at the end when they're all buddy-buddy…if Remember the Titans has done it before you, you should probably rethink

Most people don't care for it. I think it's okay. It's not a good Punisher movie, but it's a pretty competent revenge flick that just happens to include the Punisher. The action scenes are well-filmed and it takes time to flesh out the plot and the development of the main character. The big drawback is John Travolta,

The score for 2004's The Punisher is actually pretty good. Not great, but certainly better than the crap music in every MCU movie. It seems to be inspired a great deal by spaghetti westerns.

What's off-base with the writer's comments about the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack? It's got some good songs and a thematic reason to exist, but overall the choices on the Awesome Mix were pretty predictable and trite. And Gunn's ability to match up music with action isn't particularly impressive, either.

She's a major character in the two major X-Men books, being something of a leader. I'm not sure what state she'll be in after Secret Wars, though…

Eh, I suppose it's true. They still fit the original definition of Macguffin as an object that exists solely to advance the plot, which the audience doesn't have any stake in.

They're in Marvel and Fox's camps, actually. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are both Avengers as well as mutants. Though both Wolverine and Spidey have also been members at least one point in time, the other studios were unwilling to share the license because those characters are real cash cows. It looks like Sony has

He's a hack. I suppose he's done a few good things over the years, but that's mostly due to a combination of his natural talents and whoever happens to be directing him. When he's the driving force behind anything, he reveals his complete willingness to pander to the lowest common denominator. I doubt if he even likes

Some of the Infinity Stones have a bearing on the plot, others largely do not, which makes them MacGuffins. The one in Guardians in the Galaxy, for example, exists solely to send the characters after one another and drive the plot. It has no importance outside of that, and its origin and actual power are largely
