Nail on the head here. They came out of no where. They stayed on the $500-$600 path then boom $950!

I’ll say it: the price isn’t fair. When you compare it to what other manufacturers charge for hardware, it’s clear Sammy is in a price war with Apple, and not the “good for consumers” kind of war. The Moto X Pure I picked up last year new for $350 may have been a previous flagship phone, but it does what I need. I

I used to thnk that way - but I’ve been convinced otherwise...

Yes, my S6 works fine most of the time... but the battery will die in 6-8 hours with moderate use. If I know I’m going to be out all day and away from a charger I have to keep the battery saver on and use it super sparingly.

In addition it gets incredibly

Yeah except my 2 year old OnePlus is getting about 5 hours standby time off a full charge now. We may have hit a wall on Specs but with non-replaceable batteries these phones are basically paperweights after two years anyway.

That both is and isn’t true, but the fact is, Samsung didn’t (AFAIK) say anything about the support life for the device. If they were to guarantee updates for 2018 and 2019, plus an additional year of security patches, it gets more tolerable.

i think this is a fair assessment. and in the end, I’m not saying the price isn’t fair, it’s just I feel like the high price came our of nowhere.
