Volt has 8 years battery warranty. After that you will still be able to replace it. Volt has 17.1 kWh battery. The prices right now are about $300 per kWh, so Volt battery costs around $5K today. And battery prices are dropping fast. 8 years from now I doubt 17 kWh battery will be more than $2K.
